8.2 Selection Options

8.2.1 Select X out of Y

The Select X and Out of Y spin boxes control which fixtures are selected in a pattern.

  • Select X: Defines which fixture(s) to select based on the group size. For example, selecting every 1st out of 2 would select fixtures 1, 3, 5, while selecting every 2nd out of 2 would select fixtures 2, 4, 6.
  • Out of Y: Defines the total number of fixtures in each group. This determines how many fixtures are considered for the selection pattern.

For example, with 6 fixtures, if Select 1 out of 2 is set, fixtures 1, 3, 5 will be selected from the total of 6 fixtures. Similarly, if set to every 2nd out of 2, fixtures 2, 4, 6 will be selected. This allows for flexible fixture selection based on a pattern within a defined group.

You can adjust the Select X out of Y fixture selection in the Selection Options page. To access it, open the Tools Dialog by pressing Tools on the front panel and ensure Selection Options is selected on the left-hand side of the dialog.

8.2.2 Quick Select

The Quick Select section offers easy access to commonly used fixture sub-selections. All of these buttons will work on the current fixture selection, or if there is none, on all fixtures.

Modalità di selezioneDescrizione
AllIf no Sub Selection has previously been made, this will select all fixtures contained in the showfile. If you previously selected fixtures and altered that selection using any of the available sub-selection modes (such as Even, Odd, Half, etc.), this option will restore the complete selection set, bringing back all fixtures that were initially selected.
All with ValuesAll fixtures with values in the programmer will be selected, regardless of the sub-selection state.
Even / OddEven / Odd will, on the first press of the button, select all even fixtures according to the selection order. The second press on the Even / Odd button will select the fixtures in odd selection order.
Half / HalfHalf / Half will, on the first press of the button, select the first half of the selected fixtures. The second press on the Half / Half button will select the other half of all fixtures contained in the showfile.
Invert SelectionClicking on Invert Selection will invert the current selection.
Invert extends to either the previous selection set, or, if no fixtures have been selected before using any of the subselect features, extends to all fixtures contained in the showfile.
RandomRandom will make a random selection out of all selected fixtures. If you previously selected fixtures using any of the other selection methods, Random will be applied to the selected fixtures instead.
