2.1 Priority Concept
The general programming layer, known as the “Programmer,” always takes precedence over Playbacks and Scenes, unless the console is in “Blind”-Programming mode. While this behavior might seem counterintuitive initially, it provides the user with enhanced control over the console’s output. The Programmer allows you to adjust and manipulate the output at any time, without waiting for the Playbacks to finish or be paused.
The EDGE Console allows multiple Playbacks and Scenes to run simultaneously. The output values, however, are determined by the order in which these Playbacks or Scenes are triggered. The system gives priority to the most recent programming input, allowing dynamic adjustments without interrupting ongoing operations.
Function | Level | Description |
---|---|---|
Highlight Function | 6 | Overrides all other functions to ensure maximum visibility. |
Grand Master | 5 | Controls the overall output intensity and overrides most other sources. |
Group Submasters | 4 | Allow adjustments of groups of channels and override Playbacks. |
Programmer | 3 | The general programming layer, giving the user control over all active channels unless in Blind mode. |
Playbacks | 2 | Divided into three levels of priority. The latest playback triggered takes precedence over earlier ones. |
Default Values | 1 | The values set in the Fixture Library, used when no other control is active. |
